One common question about barcodes for CDs and
DVDs is the size of the barcode image. The standard
barcode size is 25mm x 37mm. Officially they can be reduced to 80% of size –
i.e. to 20mm x 30mm.
In practice, you will often see bar codes on CDs and DVDs that are shorter
than this (have a look at your CD collection). It is relatively
common to make barcode images shorter by truncating the top of the
bars (but it isn't officially recommended).
With the CD/DVD barcode packages below, we will send you images at
the smallest official size (20mm x 30mm). If you want a smaller
image, you can change/scale it yourself, or let us know when you
order & we can create a different size for you (you can change the
height, but shouldn't change the width)
You do not need to register your barcode number, you can just start using it straight away. When a retailer first receives your product, they either scan the barcode or type the number into their system, & also enter your product details, price, reordering info etc. After this, when they scan your barcode, your product information appears on their screen).
