How Barcodes Limited Was Formed...
Six years
ago, one of our other businesses (in NZ) was asking "How do I
get a barcode?". We
had a great new product which we were introducing to the market. Some of
the retailers we were approaching required a barcode on our product.
This started our long investigation into how to easily buy barcodes for a small number
of different products.
We
also found that other manufacturers were asking the same question
about getting a barcode
… and having the same problems finding a suitable answer.
We were told: "You need to join a large barcodes organisation, then pay the £££ to join, and the £££ to buy a large batch of barcodes.” But we only want one barcode! “Sorry, you can only buy a large batch of barcodes - you can't buy barcodes in small quantities.” We were ALSO told were would need to pay annual membership fees each year to use our barcodes.
AND
we were told: “When you pay your £££ for this large batch of barcode numbers,
you will only get the numbers – if you want the artwork (of
course we do!), you will need to find someone else to supply it,
or purchase the software that will allow you to generate the bar code.”
We'd spent a lot of time, energy & money producing our great new product. The difficulty obtaining a barcode seemed like the last straw!
So, Barcodes Limited was formed – not to make lots of £££ - but to help businesses and entrepreneurs in Britain, NZ & Australia get barcodes easily and cheaply. We are here to help you get quality barcodes, that work in the UK & internationally, at an affordable price.
