ISBN & ISSN Numbers

If you are looking for a barcode for your magazine or book, we recommend first getting an ISBN number (for books) or an ISSN number (for magazines). After you have your number, come back to us & we will use your number to create barcode images for your book or magazine (you will not need to buy a unique barcode number).
ISBN (International
Standard Book Number) and ISSN (International Standard Serial
Number) are unique numbers that are assigned to published books,
magazines, serials & other similar products.

ISBN numbers (for books): Go to the ISBN Agency to get an ISBN number (Neilsen BookData runs this Agency within the UK & the Republic of Ireland).
There is a charge for these numbers. Alternatively, this website gives the links to all the national ISBN centres around the world. Come back to us to purchase your barcode image once you have your ISBN number.ISSN numbers (for magazines): The British Library assigns ISSN numbers. Please contact them to get one for your magazine. Once you have your ISSN number please come back to us to purchase your barcode image.
NOTE - ISSN numbers can be used to create barcodes in 2 different formats - either as 13 digit EAN-13 numbers, or as 15 digit numbers (EAN-13 with a 2 digit supplement). Please check with the requirements of the local ISSN agency and tell us exactly what format barcode you require.
Once you have your ISBN or ISSN number,
