" The whole area of bar codes is a mine field for the uninitiated. Yours is a very well written and detailed website but one nonetheless still has that strange nagging feeling questioning 'is this a genuine bar code issuer based on the official numbering system or is it someone simply issuing barcodes hoping nobody else is issuing the same one or worse just wanting credit card info.'. I guess we will never know that since the chances of there being a conflict where a bar code issued by a cow boy meets the genuine bar code must be extraordinarily remote. Anyway I have taken the plunge ordered the bar code and we will see what happens. Certainly it was very easy to order online and I await the barcodes which we will incorporate on our first packaging run. The potential customers we have spoken to seem to vary but one of the key ones says put a bar code on it and that will be fine so fingers crossed and here goes. As we will only be selling 4 item types and therefore only require 4 unique barcode numbers in is very expensive.
